Polishing the Second Hobby

iTunes

For the past week I've been working on my second hobby--music. I found my old Motorola RAZR cellphone lying around and thought of using it as my temporary ipod. It has a built in i-tunes player. So it absolutely works like an ipod. Well, I don't own loads of mp3s on my computer right now, so it's perfect for me, since it's capacity is only 256MB.

I never owned an mp3 player in my life. Hey, I am a '80s child! I grew up listening music on my father's tape-recorder. I owned zillions of tape cassettes of my favorite artists. Back in '90s, when I was just a teenager I listened to Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, Britney Spears, and various artists I am embarrassed to mention right now. My bother, Raeed, who is 5 years younger than me introduced me to Rock, Punk and Alternative music. And I totally fell in love with Alternative music, specially Linkin Park. But what I miss most about this whole experience is, Raeed would find the newest songs from MTV, and buy the CDs right away, and play on single song all day long. I could listen those music from outside his room and ask him later about the CD and track number so that I can copy it to my hard drive. And since he didn't own a computer those days, sometimes he would come up and beg me to download a particular song. I was glad to do so. We shared this special bond over music. Oh, I miss him so much! I miss the way I found about new singles. And then using the audiograbber patiently to convert the CDs to mp3. (I know this is illegal).

Right now, the hardest part would be how to get the mp3 that I'll really enjoy. Maybe I should spend some time watching MTV. But my past habit seems hard to break. And then there is this search for the mp3 over the internet. I mean, where do I draw the line of something being legal or illegal?

What do general people feel about music policy here in USA?

Does everyone download music from iTunes store?

Or does everyone feel about enjoying music the same way?

Welcome to the Allergy Town!

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

Life sucks so much when you are sneezing your head of. Right now, my life sucks. Having dust allergy all my life, I stayed away everything about cleaning or dusting. But there are times you are ultimately the victim. So now, I am preparing to live in a pigsty for a week and figuring out the way how to dispose tons of tissue pile. The only thing that keeps me sane is a cup of spicy tea. Yay...Achoo!
